For our second anniversary, we went back to the Windy City for a grand museum tour. With our City Passes in hand, we absorbed tons of culture and enjoyed great company (each others' of course).

First up was the Planetarium. We watched an exciting video about the Earth and its place in the galaxy, and my favorite exhibit was the Atwood Sphere, which is an old school, spherical planetarium that shows you what the Chicago night sky looked like back in 1913. Super cool stuff!
Next up was the Field Museum, which ended up being our favorite (I was so intrigued, I forgot to take any pics!). It's an eclectic mix of history and natural science - with exhibits of dinosaurs, gems, Egypt, and so many more. We spent several hours there and definitely could have spent more time exploring.

The next morning, we stopped by a delicious breakfast spot before continuing on our Chicago tour - both the pancakes and French toast were delicious.
After fueling up, we went to the 360 Chicago Experience up on the top floor of the John Hancock Center. The views were incredible, but the spots where you could walk out on a glass floor and look down were a bit much for me and my fear of heights. Jacob was into it, though.

Afterwards, we went across town to the Museum of Science and Industry, slowed down slightly by Bear game traffic. This museum was also super fun, with weather, maritime, nature, and submarine exhibits. We were even treated to a taste of what it was like to work in a coal mine, and I have to admit, I'm glad I'll never actually work in one!
It was another lovely trip to Chicago, and a fabulous way to celebrate two wonderful years together. As per usual, we went big, and then we went home.
