Ida-ventures Over the Years

We've had a lot of fun times in Idaho over the years - it's a beautiful state with a lot of natural wonders and local charm. Here are a few of the highlights:

Bulk Foods Heaven

Jacob never turns down a chance to scoop gobs of snack food into little plastic bags, so I knew he would get a kick out of the giant bulk foods section in WinCo. I'm not kidding when I say giant.

Bear World

My grandpa loves the wolf at Bear World - talks about him all the time. So of course, we had to go check out the wolf and his friends. Plus, we were treated to delicious homemade fudge - what's not to like?

Craters of the Moon

Perhaps the most bizarre of Idaho's natural wonders is Craters of the Moon - a vast open land of rock and craters. It really does feel like you're on another planet. Jacob mentioned this constantly while we hiked around the park.

Painting Classes

This always makes for a lovely afternoon - the instructors walk you through step by step and at the end, you have your very own masterpiece. This one is especially fun because we used glow in the dark paint!

The winters are also beautiful, though too cold for my taste. Dahlia has the right idea, warming up by the fire!

Less attractive? Traveling to Idaho. We have had no smooth trips to Idaho. Our first trip involved flying out of Milwaukee - our first plane didn't pass inspection, so we spent 8 hours at the airport, then made it to Chicago, where our next plane also had problems. The next year, we also dealt with flight delays and ended up spending the night in Denver. However, during one trip we were able to take a lovely tour of Salt Lake before flying back.

To be continued...
