Ida-ventures Part II

Here are some more endearing memories from our Idaho trips - just add spuds.
Space Burgers
An Idaho classic - the space burger from Tastee Treet. Made to look a bit like a UFO, they are a unique experience. If you're into more of a pub burger than a fast food burger, I'd recommend Rim Rock - they do have the "best burgeps in town" after all. If you're in the mood for pizza, go to Buddy's - the sauce is super.

High School Hoops
No trip to Pocatello is complete without checking out a local basketball game. We always go to cheer the Indians on (note - mascot will be the Thunder as of the 2021 season) no matter how good they are in a particular season. The gym has a lot of character and is supposedly haunted, I hear it was even featured in an episode of Ghost Hunters.

Mall Workouts
As is par for the course across the nation, the Pocatello Mall has experienced a lot of store closures and is a shadow of its former self. The good news, though, is that the mall is still a pillar of society and encourages folks to take care of themselves by including exercise stations to stop at whilst walking laps around the facility. Who needs a gym?

The Infamous Water Fountain
After working up a sweat at the mall, it's time to quench your thirst. There's no better spot to do that then at the beautiful water fountain oasis down the hill from my folks' house. In addition to the water fountain, it also includes a bike maintenance station. Beware, though, it's a very popular destination, so don't be surprised if you have to wait in line...

The Potato Museum
There are many museum options in Idaho, but the Potato museum was by far my favorite. Potatoes are a staple and have a long and interesting history. The museum does a good job of showcasing their history with some good old fashioned fun facts scattered throughout. Plus, you get free a box of hash browns on your way out.
Yellowstone
Well, we saved the best for last. Yellowstone is my favorite national park, I'm not going to bother explaining, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
To be continued...
